Your responsibilities

The International Graduate Trainee’s primary function is to gain retail knowledge and experience, develop leadership skills and demonstrate increased proficiency in general management and leadership capabilities throughout the Trainee Program.

– Focus on skills development in the following areas:
• Knowledge about retail business and DG’s retail operations
• Develop project management and managerial skills (problem solving and decision making)
• Develop cultural awareness and adaptability
• Develop and strengthen leadership competencies
– Be responsible for and deliver on different project and developmental assignments throughout the Traineeship
– Learn about and share best practices across the organization
– Act as role models of the DG values (Determination, Integrity, Courage, Humility & Humor)

Your profile

– Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
– No more than 2 years post college graduation work experience
– Proven leadership experience, with personal qualities such as assertiveness and willingness to take calculated risks
– Fluent in English; bilingual skills preferred
– Strong interest in the food retail industry
– Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
– Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting demands
– Ability to take initiative, learn quickly and strive for results
– Strong cognitive and analytical skills, including problem solving and decision making
– Team oriented thinking, with the ability to build consensus necessary to achieve goals
– Attracted to and willing to demonstrate the values of Delhaize Group: Determination, Integrity, Courage, Humility and Humor
– Willingness to develop an international career track
– Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays as training and business needs dictate during retail training
