Analysis of  Promotional, Selling and Marketing Expenses and G&A

  • Manages all financial planning and business planning activities for G&A expenses in close collaboration with the Commercial Management.
  • Analyses, evaluates, and submits all Budget and Forecast for PSM and G&A expenses  to the European Decision Support team, including:
  • implementation and adherence to annual planning calendar 
  • development and validation of appropriate plan assumptions
  • consolidation, challenge and evaluation of all business projections and forecasts for accuracy, acceptability and conformance to strategic objectives.
  • preparing and evaluating of scenarios
  • ad-hoc analysis
  • Analyses and evaluates monthly financial results by providing transparency and insight to the management. The incumbent provides further analytical commentary on results versus budget and forecast, highlighting trends and variances and assists management in the formulation of action plans to correct budget deviations.
  • Develops financial outlooks and estimates as required during the course of the year to assist management in identifying risks and opportunities in achieving quarterly and full year expense objectives.

 

Expense accuracy, compliance and standardisation

  • Provides support and direction to the Management Team in terms of accuracy of expense coding and approval.
  • develops and improves procedures and documentation around local Purchase to Pay process
  • provide expertise and knowledge of cost and billing issues to management as required
  • supports and trains Budget holders on appropriate processes and standards
  • performs related duties as needed and completes special projects as assigned by the local management team.

 

Drives the change process in optimizing the sourcing costs

  • Identify any source of savings and implement the changes in close collaboration with the local management (Alpine and Benelux).
  • Follow up all guidelines provided by the European Sourcing Team to meet the strategic direction given by the European Management Team.
  • Work with external vendors e.g. Travel companies, telecoms etc. to gather information on spend patterns and employee usage.

 

You will be reporting to the Country Manager and the Expense Senior Manager Europe.

 

Desired minimum knowledge and experience:

  • Master/Bachelor degree in business, particularly Accounting/Finance/Admin, MBA, CPA
  • Training and experience in accounting, cost accounting and principles of taxation.
  • At least 5 years experiences in Financial Planning in subsidiary of an international corporation.

Skills:

  • Accuracy and attention to details.
  • Organised and the ability to prioritise.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and particularly Excel.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, good knowledge of French, knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Ability to work within a matrix environment and virtual team by building positive working relationships where challenge and contribution is the norm.
  • Evidence of commercial awareness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under time pressure.
  • Some international travel is required.
