ICT Support Engineer EMEA ()

Being active in the chemical industry and headquartered in Ohio (USA), we employ approximately 3.000 people and have over 35 manufacturing & support facilities worldwide.

In order to support our sustainable growth we want to engage an ICT Support Engineer who will support all our entities in Europe, Middle-East and Africa, but who will be mainly located in our production plant in Bornem. Do you want to compound your future?

Main responsibilities

As the ICT Support Engineer you are the interface to the internal customer. Your main goal and priority is to maintain and support the local/regional client and server infrastructure environment. You have the responsibility to provide support towards all users & systems within the entity of Bornem (approx. 250 users) and being a part of the EMEA Support Organization you will also support associates abroad and take a share of responsibility within project workgroups.

Other duties:

  • Support the business (first & second line for infrastructure, first level for ERP)
  • Take responsibility for the local-entity infrastructure (includes modular cabling systems, switches, & servers)
  • Support local servers, network and the general infrastructure environment
  • Prepare and coordinate new hardware/software deployments and upgrades
  • Maintain and administer asset management within your entities
  • Respect the ICT procedures, assist in detecting flaws and provide feedback
  • Depending on the request, take part in regional or global infrastructural projects
  • Place service calls, when necessary:
    • Accompanies service technicians on-site
    • Coordinates repair, follows-up call
    • Obtains and verifies service charges for repairs
  • Provides basic training to users on equipment and software operations. Instructs users on operation of local, company based applications
  • Applications support and deployment (ERP environment)
  • Follow up on local purchases (within the global standard) and by following the required procedures

Experience, skills & competencies

  • Good knowledge of infrastructural ICT landscape (networking, communication tools, operating systems, user applications, …)
  • Preferably bachelor’s degree and already a first support experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Dutch & English, basic knowledge of French
  • Flexibility and ingenuity, sharp mental skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • Results orientated and proactive
  • Ability and desire to learn and evolve skills
  • Very organized, strong follow-up skills
  • Hands on and responsible, with excellent interpersonal and communications skills
  • Self-starting, self-motivated and able to work independently Strong customer service orientation (‘customer comes first’ mindset)
  • Willing to travel between Bornem & Londerzeel (Shared Service Center); and willing to travel on a regular basis in the EMEA region.
