Junior Oracle Database Administrator ()

The Database Systems team of the department “Technical Operations Delivery Services” has the mission to design, to implement, to operate and to maintain Oracle database platforms supporting high-critical electronic payment business in a secure, fast and cost efficient environment.
In the scope of the growing Oracle products platforms, we are currently looking for a Junior Oracle Database Administrator to assist us in the implementation and the maintenance of Oracle Database technologies. As a Junior DBA, you will participate to the database patching, upgrade and monitoring, Business releases support and service requests handling.
Responsibilities :
- Install, patch, upgrade and maintain Oracle Databases (10gR2 and 11gR2)
- Follow up of Backup & recovery jobs (RMAN, Data Pump, etc.)
- Implement Oracle High availability technology with RAC, Data Guard, etc;
- Support Business department in deploying database solutions (SQL statements, Linux shell scripts, …)
- Be able to write accurate and concise technical documentation.
Required skills:
- Master or Bachelor in Computer sciences or similar
- Ability to work and communicate in an international and multi-cultural environment;
- Basic knowledge of Oracle 10gR2 to 11gR2 databases;
- Good knowledge of SQL language;
- Experience with Unix/Linux including shell scripting;
Desirable skills:
- University/High school degree in IT / Engineering or equivalent experience
- Professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers, including clear and concise written and verbal communication skills;
- Team spirit;
- High degree of initiative, accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail;
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stressful circumstances;
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change in a complex global organization;
- Ability to work during the weekend and outside Office hours for planned intervention and On-Call role;
- High aptitude for learning and high degree of self-motivation;
- Acquire new competencies and accept new challenges;
- Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities;
- Customer oriented
- Fluent in English
- French or Dutch language skill is a plus.
