Plant Controller & Accounting Manager ()

Beschrijving:

Directs financial activities of the Linne-Herten Plant, provides financial support to the plant in order to define, analyze and improve the performance and results, acts as a liaison between the plant, region, SBS (Solvay Business Services – Shared services), and corporate finance to guarantee compliance with and application of the standards and procedures defined by Corporate Finance.

Responsibility for the entire financial process of one operational legal entity and some holding companies:

• Take the full responsibility of the accounts in the country on the entire financial statements;
• Prepare all tax declarations and fill them to the relevant authority
• Validate all financial and non-financial report for consolidated purpose
• Define with the production / technical managers the cost elements associated with product costing
• Analyze variances on yields and consumptions and suggest improvements
• Verify the inventory valuation at month end
• Collect local plant information to propose accruals and book journal entries
• Provide plant data and relevant reports to the GBU Regional Controller
• Support plant management through advice, information and financial expertise
• Ensure capital projects are being set up and closed in a timely manner and compliant with capitalization procedures.
• Generate ad hoc reports as requested by plant management staff
• Complete and post internal control documents related to inventory and cost controls, monthly and quarterly
• Provide guidance, assistance and certification for annual physical and asset inventories
• Represent plant in financial and internal control audits

• Degree in finance, accounting or economics
• Fluency in Dutch & English
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in financial functions in a manufacturing environment; chemical industry preferred
• Have a strong knowledge about local accounting and tax rules to be able to guarantee the Local Compliance (Statutory accounts and Tax accountability) together with a solid skill in financial analysis
• Be familiar with Holland Tax declarations (file any reports and/or tax returns in the country)
• Ability to take initiative, work independently or as a member of the team, and report back at milestones.
• Excellent computer skills; SAP experience and knowledge required
