For our client, a global leader in the biotechnology industry, we are currently looking for a

The category manager is in charge of the development and deployment of sourcing strategies for his category. He manages global supplier portfolio for filters and chemicals.

Main activities

• Develop and implement Sourcing and Category Management strategies for Biologics/Chemicals and Filters.
• Lead and drive category strategy development to include spend analysis, market and geographical considerations, strategic importance etc.
• Maintain and improve category strategies based on internal/external factors and ensuring implementation
• Ensure implementation of Category Strategy to assure adequate source of supply and control material cost/continuity of supply
• Lead and coordinate benchmarking activities within the category and the contract negotiation process
• Ensure Category Strategy is reflecting the PSM strategic plan as well as the requirements of other impacted functions within the organization
• Identify key/strategic/critical suppliers and implement operating mechanisms for assurance of achieving or exceeding expectations
• Liaison with Medical Products Category Management in respect of cross divisional supplier management

Required Profile

• Strong leadership skills including leading projects with broad scope and impact outside own department and promotes teamwork between departments
• Complete, in-depth understanding of all aspects of the business including profitability, inventory turns and service levels
• Strong communication skills
• BS, MS or PharmD with experience in Contract Manufacturing, Chemical procurement
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
