About Wrangler

Wrangler Europe stands for fashionable denim. At its European headquarters in Belgium, close to Antwerp, we have a passionate team of around 70 people. Denim will always remain the foundation of Wrangler, and will be at the core of all ranges and innovations. At present Wrangler is focused on developing the key categories that compliment the denim including shirts, t-shirts, sweaters and jackets. Wrangler is part of the ‘Jeanswear’ coalition of the VF Corporation.

The Product Manager plays a key role to support and manage the specific consumer product line within the Brand in line with the overall Brand strategy to meet or exceed overall corporate financial requirements.

 

This position requires a high degree of experience in managing product collections and an entrepreneurial spirit to take our brands to the next level

 

Your main accountabilities:

 

Manage the product line

  • Daily management of product line and line performance
  • Develop seasonal tactics and build conceptual consumer focused assortments versus financial targets
  • Manage line to achieve SKU efficiency and to achieve line size targets, enabling and impact inventory reduction through rigid line planning, lifecycle management, KPI focus, realistic initial forecast setting
  • Decide on line composition and balance the creative innovative content with the commercial viability.
  • Responsible for bottom up reconciliation towards top down targets   Identify carryover options and lifecycle management
  • Monitor gross margin performance and plan for corrective actions if needed (costing and pricing on lot number level)
  • Achieve set fabric mix targets and identify surpluses for disposal
  • Specify sample requirements and responsible for country sample selection.
  • Set and monitor European pricing
  • Coordinate overall line calendar towards deadlines to identify business opportunities

 

Analyse

  • Understand market trends and conduct market visits where relevant
  • Analyse historical product performance as an aid to future line development
  • Analyse product sales and seasonal forecast to style / colour level

 

Communicate, present and administration

  • Define Seasonal Key product initiatives in line with overall Brand strategy
  • Create and maintain all line plans
  • Drive communication with internal departments on line related problems, issues, towards clear solutions, decisions
  • Present product lines to markets and participates in Local Sales Launches and pre-line on major accounts (when relevant) in an influencing and impactful way
  • Inform countries of line and product updates, work closely with markets to guarantee the best product for each market
  • Work with garment development team and design team to achieve required product costs versus margin targets
  • Review and guide product related marketing material and sales tools, eg web sites, fit guides, product guides
  • Strong knowledge of the denim and jeans industries and fashion trends/business.  Strong empathy for Jeanswear. Curious about consumers and continually seek to learn more about them. Is driven by consumer needs. Ability to work in multicultural environment.
  • 3 to 5 years business experience in product management. Demonstrate comprehensive experience within retailer or a brand
  • Highly commercial, a sales/profit driver with a full appreciation for the brand, product assortment etc
  • Possess world class interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, with a demonstrated skill in negotiating and influencing business partners at all levels. Very people and customer centric.
  • Results orientation: Achievement motivated. Always knows where the goal is. Thinks in terms of progress toward goals. 
  • Experience in highly complex matrix organisation is preferable
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritise and manage diverse activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically regarding business challenges combined with a bias for action and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrate high level of presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Pan European experience would be ideal
  • Analytical skills: good analytical skills needed.
  • Language skills: fluent English, verbal and written.  Any other European language is an advantage
