Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) is the international marketing arm of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) and is responsible for the refining and sales of fuel, lubricants and other petroleum derivates outside Kuwait. The state of Kuwait holds the 4th largest oil reserve in the world.

International Diesel Service (IDS) is one of the five divisions of Kuwait Petroleum International in Europe and serves some 25.000 customers, of all sizes, in 22 countries.

IDS delivers diesel fuel and financial services to commercial road transport companies through a Europe-wide network of more than 600 specialized fuel stations. IDS fuel stations are unmanned, fully automated, open 24/7 and especially designed for heavy trucks. Only an IDS Fuel Card gives access to fuel through a fully online network.

Diesel fuel is a strategic commodity, amounting to some 30% of the total costs of a transport company. The IDS concept and proposition is actively geared towards helping transport companies lower their operational costs and reducing their financial risks. IDS stands out because it offers to its customers inherently more card security and financial control than its competitors. IDS is able to achieve this as all IDS fuel stations are online and transactions are authorized before they take place.

At this moment, we are currently looking for a Sales Representative (Flanders & North France)

Kuwait Petroleum (Q8)

  • Purpose of the Sales representative is to maximize IDS Card profitability within the Commercial Transport road sector by acquiring new and profitable customers within the specified region and by maximizing return on existing customers from the specified region fueling in the IDS European network. Focus on high probability opportunities, acquisition of new business in line with Commercial Fuel strategy and customer banding with focus on priority customers.
  • Carry out price negotiations with existing and prospective customers, preparing quotations and proposals and agree on all operational requirements including price, contract and payment terms.
  • Focus on credit performance of customers ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices. Work in conjunction with the credit department in order to minimize risk from our customer portfolio.
  • Provide management with information on the performance of the customer/prospect portfolio and market conditions. Report the results both in a quantitative and qualitative way. Make sure that a proper filing via CRM systems takes place of the activities initiated in the territory. Good interactions with CSU (Customer Service Unit).
  • Proactively plan and execute customer structured calls/journey plan to maximize customer facing time and to provide a high level of service with a focus on retaining/expanding existing business relationships.
  • Grow business through value/up selling based on a robust understanding of the customer’s business challenges and the range of IDS Customer Value Proposition, to offer tailor-made solutions.
  • Understand customer business models, value drivers, challenges and opportunities to tailor offers and services to capture their businesses.
  • Contribute to a knowledge sharing and learning culture with Sales team to develop sales and marketing expertise.
  • Relevant sales experience or minimum 5 years in B2B automotive / transport sector
  • Strong communication skills, competent in negotiation and dealing with external partners, able to manage relationships at all levels
  • A relevant tertiary – education after high school – and professional training or qualifications in sales and relevant technical discipline
