Job summary

SWIFT’s Financial Planning & Analysis Department is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to re-enforce the Gating team. The Gating team supports Business Owners going through the Gating process, which is the methodology chosen by SWIFT for turning ideas into profitable live services and products. It also ensures consistency and quality of the deliverables and analyses provided to the Commercial Steering Committee (“CSC”), which guides and monitors the execution of the Commercial Strategy within the framework of the overall Strategy of the Company.

This function is highly visible and challenging for two reasons: Firstly, it helps to support CSC decisions on the development of company-wide strategic commercial initiatives; secondly, it requires large coordination capabilities across all key company dimensions.

Key tasks include preparing business cases and support business owners throughout the Gating process. You will have a key role developing and updating financial projections for key commercial initiatives but also coordinating the involvement of all the departments that contribute to the successful launch of those initiatives. Finally, you will be involved in the creation of the quarterly Business Cases Dashboard aiming to provide the CSC with an overview of the initiatives’ performance against approved business cases.

We are looking for a pro-active and energetic Analyst with 5-7 years of business/financial experience. Fluent English writing & speaking skills required, including experience in business writing & presentation skills to higher echelons of organisations.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Support and challenge Business Owners to ensure high quality standards of all analyses, information and deliverables throughout the Gating process;
• Ensure in-depth working knowledge and understanding of key business drivers. Understand links between information and business drivers from different parts of the organization and model those into strong financial business cases;
• Perform Business cases scenario modelling to highlight potential risks to the CSC;
• Act as a primary point of contact for key touch points, coordinating the involvement of all the departments that contribute to the successful launch of those initiatives going from IT, Legal, Pricing and risk management.

Education:

• University degree or equivalent
• Finance/business or acquired professional experience in a similar environment

Experience:

• At least 3-6 years of business/financial experience
• Sound business acumen

Professional knowledge and expertise:

• Good understanding of market landscapes in payment and securities as well as product cost structures in a network based industry, preferably in the telecoms industry
• Expert knowledge of Excel and excellent analytical skills
• Financial Modelling capabilities and good understanding of Financial Principles
• Team player, able to work effectively cross-functionally; willing to work in a multicultural environment
• Proactive and able to adapt quickly to changes
• Fluent in English
• Understanding of general accounting principles and a hands-on experience of management accounting (e.g. Product P&L, Activity Based Costing) is a plus.
