Job Description

The Manager Legal will have to:

  • provide high quality legal support to the TME business divisions and, where relevant, to TME affiliates in Europe, in order to facilitate the achievement of TME’s business objectives while contributing to ensuring legal compliance and managing legal risks; manage legal issues, including complex projects and contracts;

  • pro-actively manage the legal support to (1) the Purchasing and R&D divisions and (2) the After-Sales division (and (3) depending on the candidate’s experience, the HR division);

  • manage a team of 2 or 3 lawyers (Senior Legal Counsels);

  • pro-actively participate in legal awareness and legal compliance activities;

  • Perform his/her duties pro-actively and autonomously, with a strong sense of ownership and understanding of the business context and impact, as well as of the needs of the internal clients (customer-minded approach).

Your Responsabilities

  1. To manage a team of 2 or 3 Senior Legal Counsels and, with this team, ensure high quality legal support mainly to TME Purchasing, R&D and After-Sales businesses (and, depending on the candidate’s experience, HR division).

  2. To manage / provide legal support pro-actively and autonomously for day-to-day activities and more complex projects and contracts, mainly to TME Purchasing, R&D and After-Sales businesses.

  3. To pro-actively contribute to raise legal awareness by providing, autonomously and with strong business sense and understanding, expert training to the business divisions in major areas of TME’s activities, and directly and pro-actively interact with the business divisions in this respect. Main area of raising legal awareness: contract management and intellectual property.

  4. To pro-actively contribute to supporting and strengthening legal compliance within TME and TME affiliated companies, and to contribute to creation and implementation of internal processes and policies within TME and towards TME affiliated companies, and to assist the General Counsel Europe in this respect.

Your Profile

Education and/or Experience:

High academic background: University degree in law and Master in Laws, L.L.M obtained in Europe.

10 to 15 years relevant experience in a multinational company or in a reputable law firm with an international practice.

Managerial and technical skills:

Strong managerial, communication and organisational skills. Extensive experience in legal advisory, negotiation and drafting work. Flexible, pro-active and problem-solving approach and ability to work autonomously are a must. Experience in working in a multinational environment is an important added value.


Excellent command of written and spoken English.
