Account Manager Diabetes Care – The Netherlands (West Region) Diabetes Care At BD we have been specialising in the design and manufacture of insulin needles and syringes since the company’s formation in 1897.   BD introduced the world’s first specialised insulin syringe in 1924, and to this day we concentrate our expertise on developing and manufacturing precision needles, lancets and syringes, in order to single-mindedly produce the very finest possible, in this critical area of patient care.   Our focus on research and development into insulin delivery puts us at the forefront of injection technique and makes us partners in diabetes care across the world.   Description The ideal candidate has a sales and clinical background with at least two years experience in a commercial field and knowledge of the healthcare environment. The diabetes care team is small and therefore the ability to work on your own is critical. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who shows proactive attitude and insight.  The requirement to be a team member remains, so a good mixer and an interest in working with others are necessary. You will have good commercial, communicative and administrative skills, are enthusiastic, show good problem solving skills, and are able to embrace the BD culture and values.       Role/responsibility:   Develop and maintain the DC sales in line with annual plan and business objectives. Identify and exploit opportunities for growth in the defined territory. Maintain strong relationships with mailorder companies and pharmaceutical wholesalers.  Set up    commercial activities to increase BD market share. Provide support to health care professionals and opinion leaders to reinforce BDDC’s position as a leader in diabetes education. In doing so positively influence the prescription process in favour of BD products.  Provide workshops for specific target groups. Monitor and feedback on all competitive activities in the defined territory. Represent BDDC at regional diabetes meetings, seminars and conferences. Ensure high frequency of visits, sampling and literature distribution to all key diabetes centers within the defined area. Maintaining the visibility of BDDC at all times. Provide input and suggestions for further improvement of BDDC’s product range and educational offering. Work together with office based support to update customer databases and pricing for the defined territory and to organize specific marketing activities. Maintain the established network of opinion leaders.   Requirements (qualifications / experience)   Educated to degree level. Knowledge of healthcare environment and /or diabetes. Clinical nursing background Sales experience in a commercial environment and/or healthcare industry. Highly motivated with evidence of proactive attitudes.
