Corporate Controller ()

Robert Half is currently looking for a (m/f) Senior Financial Controller for one of our clients, in order to sustain the growth of the company.

Reporting to the Group Controller, you will have following responsibilities:

1. Reporting & Corporate Performance Management

  • Contribute to the development and production of monthly management accounts including group consolidated accounts and reports for operational management, also interfacing with the local external auditors as relevant
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Group’s accounting records and financial systems, in close collaboration with the Consolidation and the ICT departments
  • Support the ownership of the Group’s balance sheet ensuring completeness and accuracy while undertaking balance sheet reviews on a regular basis
  • Play a full part in providing relevant & timely financial information to enable a balanced and objective assessment of the Group’s strategy and objectives

2. Budget and forecasts

  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the Board and third party stakeholders

3. Financial management & controls

  • Effectively monitor the non-cash working capital components of the Group with specific attention to receivables, inventories, payables and capital expenditures
  • Actively detect, identify and explore opportunities for efficiencies and savings
  • Participate to the review and update, in line with good practice, of the Group’s internal control environment, support the development, enforcement and monitoring of company policies and procedures within the group to ensure continued compliance
  • Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organisation

4. Merger & Acquisitions

  • Ensure the compliance of the Opening Balance with the Group principles, including IFRS adjustments and purchase price allocation
  • Train and support finance staff of recently acquired companies to the Group requirements in the areas of accounting and reporting

5. Information technology

  • Participate in the further development of the Group’s reporting and consolidation system(s) and the standard Global ERP to drive controls and reporting improvements.

6. General

  • Carry out any further tasks for which your qualifications & experience are suited as directed by the Company

The requested qualifications for this job include:

  • Masters degree in accounting, finance, business or management required
  • Minimum 10 years of international experience in senior finance management position, used to working with multiple facilities in various countries, preferably within a B2B manufacturing and distribution environment
  • Fluent in English, French or Dutch is an asset, another European language would be a plus;
  • Proven record of overseeing all accounting and reporting matters including audits, taxes and preparation of consolidated monthly and annual financial statements
  • High FP&A experience (budget, forecasting, variances analysis, efficiency and action driven)
  • Global/International accounting experience, strong knowledge and capability in IFRS/US GAAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
