We are looking for a Field Service Manager for our customer, a medium-sized company where complex process machines are built for the production of pharmaceutical granules.

Function:

  • Manages the Field Service Engineers (FSE’s):5-6 internal + ad hoc subcontractors or in house assembly engineers 
  • Planning in co-operation with the Service Account Managers (SAM’s) for the service business and with the Project Managers for new equipment sales + communication with FSE’s 
  • Management of FSE’s entails: new hires, motivation, organize trainings, manage equipment/tools, make travel arrangements in co-operation with our travel agent, performance management & customer satisfaction reviews/follow up, reporting, follow up and support of service engineers in the field, especially junior ones or in case of problems, … .
  • Manages the service planning in MS Projects:
  • Planning of holiday/recup, training, … + internal work (FAT’s, validation, …) of FSE’s and ad hoc Process Specialist or Software specialists for on site interventions / training for customers
  • Advise on planning of upgrades / new equipment + keep planning up to date ico shifts.
  • Is backup for the planning of the Product Development & Test Centre (equipment & Human Resources)
  • Is responsible (technically and commercially) for the Maintenance and Calibration (M&C) proposals as well as further development of Service Level Agreement program: preventive maintenance, TPM, OEE, response time agreements, custom trainings), together with his/her co-workers Service Account Managers (SAM’s) and Field Service Engineers and the Customer Service Director.
  • Active prospection and acquisition of opportunities: generate proposals and follow up on them commercially with customers and SAM’s.
  • Execute commercial reviews on T&C and negotiate with customers
  • Prepare field documentation on M&C: checklists, blanc calibration documents, method statements,….
  • Proactively monitors and improves customer satisfaction on standard M&C interventions, which involves occasional customer visits
  • Is responsible, together with his/her co-workers Service Account Managers, for achieving customer service KPI’s, sales and profit targets
  • Reports to the Customer Service Director, and will be supported by his peer SAM’s and the Customer Service Director
  • Master Degree Industrial Engineer or equivalent by experience 
  • Experience / strong interest in all machine building aspects:
  • Technical: application knowledge, process engineering, electronics and controls, mechanical engineering, business operation and organization
  • Commercial: get a clear view on customer need from their demand, generate value proposition, demonstrate a will to achieve commercial result (TO, Margin, Satisfaction), claims management
  • Accurate, no nonsense attitude and able to take responsibility for customer service projects
  • Enthusiastic, service-oriented and flexible team player with commercial affinity
  • Prepared to travel (occasionally)
  • Fluent knowledge of languages (English and Dutch mandatory, French and German preferred, Spanish nice to have)
