HR Lawyer Employee Relations & Legal Brussels ()


Within the corporate Human Resources Division, the Group HR Labor Law & Employee Relations team is responsible for the management of the HR Legal files within the Division and the coordination of the Social relations with the Social partners on Group level. The HR Legal team members are providing legal counsel to internal HR and business clients in a wide variety of individual files. They are in charge of the follow-up of changes in Belgian and European labor law regulation and the analysis of the company impact; they advise on the need to adapt internal policies and practices and ensure implementation. For the evolutions in the countries were Euroclear has Representative offices, they coordinate together with outside counsels the analysis and implementation of the appropriate changes. The Employee Relations team members are in charge of managing the social bodies in Belgium, The Netherlands and on European level, ranging from the Works Council, to the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work, the working groups related to these forums as well as the European Works Council. Our team is currently looking for an HR Lawyer in charge of both Employee Relations files and individual HR legal files.

Your part of the deal
The job holder will have to: – Lead working groups with Social partners on a variety of topics, acting as a consultant to line managers and HR Business Partners regarding working schedules, watch duty regimes, working time matters, etc… – Manage and coordinate the organization of ordinary and extra ordinary Belgian Works Council meetings both content wise (collection & preparation of supporting material for the meetings) as regarding the overall planning and follow-up of the outcome of the meetings. – Support the HR Legal team members and provide legal counsel to internal HR and business clients in a wide variety of HR legal files: analyze options taking into account the business context and striving for a balanced solution between company needs and employee interest and implement the solution through legal documents. These situations cover terminations, end of career solutions, change of employment contracts between Euroclear companies, etc… – Follow-up on new legislation on labour law, recommend changes and ensure implementation. – Preparation and coordination of HR Legal projects covering different countries (update of employee handbooks, review of employment contracts & conditions, questions re work permits, pension,…. ) – occasional travel to the Braine L’Alleud office Applications only online.

Your Profile
– You are a lawyer with a minimum of 5 years experience in Labor law and/or Employee Relations in Belgium (eg. Consultancy, Law firms, HR department in larger organizations,…) – You are passionate about HR and combine this with a high business acumen – You can take a helicopter view, are able to take decisions and work in an autonomous way – You provide a qualitative and added value work to your internal clients – You are able to design innovative solutions that meet business needs and specificities – You are able to communicate clearly (written, spoken,…) – You are assertive and diplomatic – You are able to manage crisis situations and conflicts – You have strong influencing skills and are stress resistant – You are fluent in English, Dutch and French – You hold a Master in Law, preferably with an expertise or specialization in social law
