Petrochemical & Refinery Sales Lead – EMEA ()


This position will have a leading role in the petrochemical & refinery market development efforts of the company’s Temperature Sensing (Catalysts Division), supporting the business strategy. The successful candidate will lead Sales efforts to commercialize new applications in the petrochemical & refinery industries, and will be responsible to identify potential customers, promote the company’s products and services, and secure new business. Additional responsibilities will be into their core industrial markets.

The position reports to the Commercial Manager of Europe & Asia. Penetration of new markets is the key growth driver of the business strategy, and this position will be a focal point in delivering on this strategic goal. In addition to leading the commercialization of several potential large new applications in the region, this person will be a key contributor to developing business cases and launch plans that support new market development.

Major Responsibilities

· Deliver revenue and pricing targets for customers in territory that meet or exceed budget

· Support new product innovation, technical sales, testing for new and existing customers, and closing business opportunities

· Develop and facilitate relationships with customers at all levels within the organization

· Product and technical support to accounts through understanding and knowledge of customer processes, technologies, etc.

· Gather and distill competitor and market intelligence for appropriate business response

· Identify new potential target applications and customers, and secure sales to grow the business

· Build and maintain close relations and communications with Production and R&D, being the liaison between outside customers and inside suppliers, to provide them with the necessary information and feedback to develop and improve the Temperature Sensing products, filling and satisfying customers’ needs

· Support in the development of market and business plans on identified new opportunities

Position Requirements

· BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent

· Proven specialty sales experience

· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of industrial manufacturing processes (petrochemical, refinery, or glass containers), products, and markets and the necessary technical expertise or aptitude to introduce, sell, service and assist the customers in the use of the company’s Temperature Sensing products

· An assertive self-starter who is results driven and thrives in a team-oriented approach

· Petrochemical or refinery process engineering experience, including some process instrumentation involving temperature measurement and control preferred.

· Demonstrated record of delivering strong sales growth, preferably including success in new markets and/or new applications

· Must have strong personal and business ethics, as well as business focus/vision, customer insight, professional expertise.
