Role Description
External Supply is part of Pfizer Global Supply and is responsible for managing the product flow from external suppliers to the different markets.
The Team Leader leads a sub team of colleagues in Planning External Supply who manage the supply chain for products manufactured by contract manufacturers in the Europe/Africa/Middle East region, and delivered to Pfizer markets and third party customers.
(S)he actively coaches the members of the team and organizes the activities of the team in an efficient and effective way.
The person supports the Manager to maintain visibility and control of the supply situation for the products managed by the team. (S)he will have full ownership of the delivery performance for all products and suppliers in his/her scope.
The Team Leader also works closely together with the other team leaders to align on processes and ways of working.
(S)he will also have operational supply chain planning tasks for an important part of the time. (S)he will deal with projects for start up of new suppliers, or managing 1 or more difficult suppliers.
Responsibilities
The Team Leader will be responsible to:
– Monitor and direct the activities of the team to ensure correct execution of key processes like:
*Follow up timely availability of customer forecast
*On time issuance of Purchase orders
*Communicate confirmed important changes to all stakeholders
*Take appropriate action to avoid/mitigate impact of important volume changes
*Communicate pro-actively to the markets to keep them up to date on supply
*Follow-up implementation of new article and first order at the contract manufacturer’s planning in accordance with launch date;
*Timely detection of, pro-active approach towards, and adequate communication of expected/potential supply issues.
*Make sure receipt transactions in the system are processed on time for all shipments of Global Drug Product Europe.
– Represent External Supply Planning towards stakeholders external to External Supply Europe:
* ensure regular operational communication with the key markets (monthly conference calls)
*organize face-to-face meetings with the markets concerned involving also other External Supply colleagues.
You will provide people management in following areas:
– Train, support and monitor External Supply Planning colleagues in the team;
– Organize the activities of the team by securing adequate distribution of the workload and organizing back-up in absence of a team member, in the sub team as within the team of supply chain planning.
– Assume responsibility for the progress and integration of new colleagues (mentorship)
– Make sure objectives, development plans and performance reviews of the direct reports are submitted on time.
– Support all improvement programs of Pfizer.
– Lead team meeting together with the other team leaders for the total team of supply chain planning.
– Make sure forecast volumes for the current year are fully submitted on time
– Submit the budget volumes on time and make sure the necessary checks on volumes changes are done.
– Support Pfizer Network Strategy implementation: execute and where possible accelerate transfers.
In the area of internal processes, the Supply Chain Planner will be in charge to:
– Ensure procedures and reports used in the team are in line with standard procedures for External Supply Planning.
– Work on continuous improvement and streamline procedures and processes to be used by the team and secure that processes are documented.
– Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators including the low stock report.
– Take ownership for several key External Supply chain systems and/or processes.
– Contribute to the improvement of the Supply Chain Agreements process with focus on supply chain and optimization both for External Supply (less packaging orders) and the markets. Coordinate the Supply Chain Agreements with the different markets.
– Be a member of the External Supply / European Logistic Center Business Review Meeting.
– Become a Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) for one or more systems and processes related to ES supply chain planning (e.g. JDA, VMR, DSS, SCIM, SCA, SAP, Common labels).
– Owner of (a) selected External Supply Europe Standard Operating Procedure(s) (“SOP” + work instructions) in the Supply Chain Management Area. This includes periodic (at least yearly) review and updating of this/these procedure(s) and training of new colleagues for this/these procedure(s).
– Achieve good SOX rating and FCPA compliance.
– Be a back up for the planning manager.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor degree ( Economics, Trade or Management) or equivalent trough experience;
Minimum 5 years working experience in a Supply Chain environment; Minimum two years experience in a planning environment of a production plant, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English and at least one other major European language;
Very good knowledge of planning tools and related reporting tools (Business Intelligence Tools).
Very strong people management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to lead and participate in teams at all levels of management required.
Lead change and builds effective teams by demonstrating business acumen. Well developed interpersonal skills (leadership, integrity, building effective teams, flexibility and creativity).
Experience in projects that requires collaborative approaches, strong analytical skills & solid ability to understand business issues and processes.
